December to March offers the most reliable snow and the full winter program. November to early April is best for the Northern Lights. Late March and April add long sunny days — the locally beloved "spring winter".
Typical winter temperatures range from -5 °C to -30 °C. It's dry cold, and warm Arctic overalls, boots and gloves are included in almost every tour.
Yes. Short husky rides, reindeer sleighs and Santa visits are designed for families. Lapland is one of Europe's most family-friendly winter destinations.
Yes — drivers must be 18+ with a valid car or motorcycle licence. Passengers, including children, can ride along.
Most husky, snowmobile and aurora tours include thermal overalls, boots, gloves and a balaclava. You can also rent a full set for the whole stay.
There's never a guarantee, but on a clear winter night the odds are real. Lapland's aurora is visible 150–200 nights a year; guided tours drive to the darkest skies in the area.
Direct flights serve Rovaniemi (RVN), Kittilä (KTT, for Levi), Ivalo (IVL, for Saariselkä) and Kemi-Tornio (KEM). Overnight trains from Helsinki reach Rovaniemi and Kolari (for Ylläs/Levi).
All tours run in English. German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese-speaking guides are available on selected products — filter or ask us.
Cancellation terms vary per product and are shown at checkout. Most tours are fully refundable up to 24–72 hours before departure.
